Writer, programmer, broadcaster.

I’m a Director at 20th Century Flicks video shop, a Curator and Online Editor for Cinema Rediscovered, Co-host of a film podcast called Cinema Blindspot and a freelance broadcaster and writer.

I love the sound of a (photochemical) film projector and drink a lot of tea. I’m a keen advocate for all manner of cinema-going, the film print medium and repertory programming.

My previous line of work was programming and managing the online and print content for Melbourne’s iconic Astor Theatre (2011-2015). I’m also a fierce feminist and joined the good ship GOFF (Girls on Film Festival) in its inaugural year as Festival Curator and Writer.

I’m a member of the WFCC (Womens Film Critics’ Circle), an English Language Editor for FIPRESCI  and Europa Cinemas network review. I also freelance for film industry projects including BFI NRS, The Bigger Picture and Conversations About Cinema. I am on the Board of Trustees at one of the UK’s longest running single screen cinemas, Curzon Cinema & Arts, Clevedon.

I’ve spent many hours dissecting film across the airwaves on Triple R, JOYFM and ABC 774, Radio National, BBC World Service and Monocle 24 and for local Bristol television station Made in Bristol TV. I have occasionally jumped into the hot seat to news read and shoot the breeze as a Triple R Breakfaster and I’ve served on a number of festival selection committees and juries including IFFR, Berlinale Forum, Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, CIFF, Glasgow SFF, MIFF, Revelations Film Festival Perth, Encounters Short Film Festival Bristol, MIM, and the AACTA and ATOM Awards.

I am a staff writer for Desist Film have written for In Film Australia, Senses of Cinema, The Vine, Keyframe @ Fandor and others, more in the links. I’m easy to find and get in touch with on both Facebook and Twitter. If you would like to contact me for a film introduction, Q&A hosting, panel appearance, radio interview or other I can be contacted by email at: tarajudah[at]hotmail[dot]com
